So it was the first Fathers' Day here, and also the first week in our new home. There's a lot of work to do to get us comfortable (like add light fixtures to some rooms!) but we're prioritising and right now just working on unpacking.
Sprog has been enjoying the garden, now that Spouse has gotten her over her fear of grass. She's even had occation to stuff her namesake flower in her mouth. The space has been great for Spouse too. Even something as simple as sitting on the front porch makes him so much less stressed. And I have been attempting to grow things.
So here's so less stress, more happiness and beverages on the front porch for Fathers' Day, and every day.

I think I'm ready
I had a feeling tonight things would be happening soon. I've been irritable and the baby is low. So I packed the bags while eating constantly (really hungry tonight and blood sugar is weirdly on the low side), tidying the dining table and watching 'Columbo.'
Finally couldn't do any more than just go to bed so texted Spouse, who was out for his regular Sunday Geek night, that we really needed to finish reading The BFG so I could have the baby. The goal was to read the entire book out loud before the birth and we were so close to the end. He raced home (even after I assured him I was not in labour) and the book is now finished.
I also feel less labour-y. Still, I think we're ready. Any time now.

Mum knows now
Today I phoned my mum, first time in a while and it was really for a general chat about how things were going.
Wife though was keen to tell her about our little geek baby who is still on their way. She was ecstatic to hear about it and of course I believe Wife will be telling her parents later tonight too.
All is still going well, but Wife continues to eat all the dairy.

Excitement
I've been told to record my feelings and as a dutifully well training husband, I've agreed with almost no grumbling at all.
I'm very excited to be having a child with my gorgeous wife. Firstly because I think our genes are superbly suitable for the next generation and secondly because I've always thought that I'd have a child of my own to bring up and learn from as well as teach about the world.
This part of the whole process however is the part I am to blame for; so the only thing I can do is profusely appologise, continually thank and be basically at the beck and call of my wife until it's over. For some reason science hasn't quite worked out how to do a pregnancy time-share yet, so I'm left with massages and chores.
I can't wait to tell people though,
